Christmas Toys and Collectibles Fair 2015

Official poster of the event

December 12, 2015 - Lock and loaded with some cash from my first salary of my new job, I decided to check out the Christmas Toys and Collectibles Fair 2015. It would seem that the organizers of this event were the same guys who organized ToyCon, judging by the ToyCon shirt worn by some organizers inside the event. Don't get your hopes up though. This is not like ToyCon. There's nothing much to see but lots of booths that sell different kinds of pop culture merchandise ranging from figures to fan-made clothes. This is not an event for fans to go sightseeing, but a three-day market full of things to buy,  so if you're just a person with no cash to spend, don't attend it unless you're into window shopping, and just taking pictures of the few figures displayed and cosplayers.

My ripped ticket. Entrance fee is Php 100 by the way

Once I got into the venue, I started my search for some anime figures to buy. In the end, I only went to the booth of the only online anime figure shop I trust. I bought four figures from them, made most of the cash I brought with me vanished instantly. I was starting to think if whether I should be happy because I got some of the figures I wanted to have, or feel regretful for spending big (LOL). I'll post the figures I bought at the end of this blog post.

Onegai Onii-chan - The only online shop I trust. Maybe you could give me a big discount next time? :)

After that, I went sightseeing in search for the displayed figures and some cosplayers. I only found a very small number of displayed figures.

The Hulk versus Tony Stark in the Hulkbuster

Star Wars figures...mostly Storm Troopers

Darth Vader, Bobba Fett, and ummmm...

Obi Wan Kenobi in his senior years

Darth Maul showing his sexy body

Three Maleficent figures

Agent J and Agent K along with one of those annoying aliens

Batman doing Parkour moves
Levi, Mikasa, and Eren...sorry, Armin, you're not needed in the display
Honoka Kousaka in her Natsuiro Egao 1,2 Jump outfit
Kaneki...sucks that he died though

Note to self: Batman vs. Superman movie coming soon

I started searching for some cosplayers. It's around 11am and I only found a few of them.At first I hesitated to take pictures. My introvert self spoke to me not to engage in human activities, but screw that! I found someone cosplaying my favorite character.

A guy in a denim outfit with his 3D maneuver gear

Nishikino Maki from Love Live! wearing her Snow Halation outfit

Chiyo Sakura from...oh wait, a derping photobomber
Much better! Chiyo Sakura from Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun

Some random woman who wants to be noticed

My favorite character, Kotori Minami from Love Live! in her random casual wear

Since she's my favorie character, I took a selfie with her. Please excuse my face
Kaori Miyazono from Your Lie In April...She's alive...I'm not crying
Umaru Doma from Himouto! Umaru-chan...why are you here dressed like that?!
Ayame Kajou...or should I say Blue Snow from Shimoneta. Planning to spread sex jokes in the venue
I only stayed at the venue for around 2 hours. I was excited to unbox my anime figures!

My haul for this event

The cutest senior in Love Live! Nico Yazawa!

Hanayo Koizumi from Love Live! Her shy attitude is one of the reasons why I like this character very much. The second best girl in my list.

Kotori Minami from Love Live! My favorite character. This is my fourth figure of her already.
Hoppou-chan a.k.a. the Northern Princess from the game Kantai Collection. She's a real piece of work because she has a lot of accessories in the box.
A Kotori Minami rubber strap...Did I tell you that she's my favorite character?

To wrap up this post, I just want to say that they should have organized this event with a bit more enthusiasm. These events should be exciting all day. It's not bad, but it needs improvement. Make it an event for every pop culture fan to enjoy. That's all!

There's another anime event coming up sometime after Christmas. I'm looking forward to it. I hope I still have some cash to spend. LOL
