Cosplay Carnval - Day one only

Cosplay Carnival is a 2-day event held at the SMX Convention Center of the Mall of Asia Complex here in the Philippines. Me and my buds decided to go on the first day to wash off that stress from work and from the people we're dealing with during our shifts.

I had a lot of first time moments yesterday, and such moments include driving from home all the way to the venue, attending the event itself (because I never heard about this event before), and last, but not the least, it was my first time to cosplay on an event like this.

Which character from the fictional universe did I portray? NO ONE! I always wanted to cosplay before, but I never had the time, money, or the materials to cosplay. I haven't even found a single character that fits perfectly for me, so I decided to cosplay randomly.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention. I never had the time to use my camera to take clear shots because I was cosplaying. I just asked my guys to give their photos taken from their phones to me just to create this post. Some shots are a bit blurry, but thank you, guys! You know who you are!

Decided to be a random soldier who happens to be a Love Live fan! On my left is a bazooka with Nico Yazawa's catchphrase written on it, while on my right is my Kotori Minami plushie wearing a military cap with a medic's symbol.

I couldn't believe that even a cosplay like mine, people would want to take a photo with me. Only a few people took a few photos with me though, especially this Heart to Heart version of Maki Nishikino. She was the one who asked me.

Excuse me? Can I conduct an interview with you?
Someone even wanted to interview me...not because of my cosplay though. LOL! This dude said he was doing a research paper regarding anime and cosplays, so I decided to help him out.

Question 1: What is anime to you?
Question 2: What are the good and bad sides of anime and cosplay?
Question 3: What do you want to say to the people who are watching this video?

These were the questions that were thrown at me by this guy, and I was like "Anime to me is...um...err...anime is...well... *inner voice* DAREDA TASUKITE!!! Help!!!"

I hope I was able to say the right words to you, kid. Bottom line is that NEVER PAY ATTENTION TO THE SOCIETY THAT LOOKS DOWN TO THE LIKES OF US ANIME LOVERS! THIS IS WHAT WE LOVE, AND WE'LL CONTINUE TO LOVE ANIME AND COSPLAY! :)

Of course, my friends took a picture with me... :)

There was a Sumo Wrestling booth I wanted to join, but I got a number of reasons not to.

1.I wore boots. It's a hassle to remove them for a minute and then put it back.
2. I don't need the sumo suit. I'm already big.
3. I'm the largest of the group. No contest! lol!

I felt jealous...I wanted to join the activity. :'(

No matter though! I get to take a picture with the event's guest cosplayers from overseas! Rainier Tachibana and Kirisaki!

The event had a series of contests like eating contests, karaoke contests, auctions, and dance battles. I was overjoyed when I saw this dance group. The entire Muse from Love Live!!!

For the first time as well, I tried bidding against other bidders. What we were trying to bid up was a gachapon containing a Honoka Kousaka keychain. I was the last bidder, but the price I paid for this small item was double the price of its estimated price. Still, I had no regrets because it was a great experience.

I pre-ordered these goods months before from my trusted online shop. I finally got them. More Kotori Minami collection for me!!! Got my GSC Nendoroid Kotori Minami Training Outfit ver. and Nesoberi Jumbo plushie Sunny Day Song version.

Sunny Day Song plushie is bigger than my first plushie

My thoughts on the event? I really enjoyed it thanks to those first time experiences. The venue is quite spacious, but maybe because there were not much event-goers in this event compared to the other events I visited. I enjoyed watching the contests, and I really had a great time cosplaying. Maybe I should wear the same thing on the other events while I try to find the perfect character for me. I'm looking forward to the rest of the events this year.
